B6.3 Architecture and materials
The architecture and materials of employment buildings shape not just how they look, but how they are experienced by the people who use them, and the communities around them. A considered approach to styling and detailing helps to create a sense of identity and place, whilst varied materials and thoughtful design can break up blank façades and avoid creating a sense of scale that feels overwhelming. By reflecting the human scale and local character, we can create buildings that feel distinctive, engaging, and rooted in their setting.
