Wakefield District Design Code Draft Supplementary Planning Document November 2025

We want to improve the quality of new buildings and places in Wakefield District, so they feel inviting and are easy for people to use.

This document gives simple codes and guidance to help people design things the right way from the start. It shows what we want to see when someone wants to build something new.

The Local Plan sets out the rules, and the Design Code explains them in more detail.

Part B: Codes and Guidance

This sets out codes and guidance for the 6 vision objectives.

Appendices

These include a Glossary and provides supporting detail to the codes and guidance as well as what good looks like for each.
